First at "girl with a sword" and again at "the internet was a mistake" I'm reminded of the locked tomb series... I can't decide if I want to recommend it, partly because it's also unfinished, but I think you'd appreciate some of the themes and characters. At its heart is one girl who is forced into power in a fucked up system, and also *another* girl who is forced into power at the deeper heart of this fucked up system AND carries a sword. And they're in love. So there is that.

Revolution!!! Somehow that similarity did not even click until you spelled it out.

Anyway I have not watched much anime but I am definitely intrigued by these similarities! Thanks for sharing this.
